WORK GROUPS
About the work groups
One of the outcomes of the GME Summit West in November of 2015, was the creation of the three work groups - initiated to work on separate but interrelated activities. The work groups convene monthly for conference calls to strategize, discuss progress, and move forward on their respective GME Initiative activities.
The goal of the Legislative work group is to draft bills for fixes (rural, teaching health center, CMS rules) and move forward with an overhaul of the GME payment reform system, and to review/critique existing bills.
The goal of the State Initiatives work group is to track state initiatives, educate others about state GME activities, look at the finance, accountability, and governance of GME reform, and to host an annual conference.
The goal of the Partnerships work group is to broaden the base, establish partnerships with other organizations, regions, and states, and to build a cohesive network of dedicated allies in GME reform.
Conference Calls
Conference calls are held monthly, or as participants are available, for each work group and is led by the work group chair. Summary notes and more information about work group calls and activities can be found on their respective pages.
